The Basics

Eczema is the umbrella term for many different and common inflammatory conditions of itchy, scaly, crusty, and at times, oozing, cracked, or fissured skin.

There are many types of eczema - ranging from atopic dermatitis (those who genetically lack natural moisturizing factor and other important proteins in the skin) to contact dermatitis to dyshidrotic eczema to nummular eczema to stasis dermatitis and many more.

What to Expect

Whatever the type of eczema, at Entière Dermatology, we work with you to determine what to avoid, keeping the skin well hydrated, treating flares with topical and oral medications, and curating a personalized skincare regimen. Sometimes we may need to perform further diagnostic testing to determine whether there is something you are exposed to which you can avoid to prevent flares.

Our Recommendations

Apply a gentle moisturizer without a fragrance daily.

Using a humidifier in the winter can help increase the indoor air moisture content.
